Looking for connection, mentorship, and quality education?
From Jan-June 2020, the BC Centre for Palliative Care, Victoria Hospice and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice partnered to pilot a community of practice for social workers, counsellors, and spiritual health practitioners working in palliative care, using the Project ECHO Model™. The pilot showed outstanding results in sense of connection, palliative competencies, and integration of best practice evidence into care.
In the Fall of 2020, the three partners will use the learnings from the pilot to offer a new opportunity.
Who may join the group? If at least 50% of your work is focused on supporting patients and families nearing end of life, this may be the group you’ve been looking for. Participants from the pilot may join with the understanding that some topics will be repeated in a revised format, allowing for more small group discussion.
What is Project ECHO? (See attached page and the link for details on the ECHO Model).
Each FREE, topical session includes watching a pre-recorded, 15-20 minute presentation and then joining a 1-hour on-line session for questions, discussion, case studies and sharing experiences. In addition, participants will have access to an online community where resources such as articles and practice tools will be posted.
All sessions will be 8-9am, the last Thursday of each month.
