BC Centre for Palliative Care Strategic Initiatives: Change in Leadership

As we announced in May, the BC Centre for Palliative Care is saying goodbye to Carolyn Tayler as our Director of Strategic Initiatives when she retires on September 1. Under her leadership, the team have supported the establishment of various clinical and education initiatives across the province.  Carolyn is vacating the chair of Director, but she’s not leaving us completely; she will become an Advisor to BCCPC, whenever she’s not (in her words) “sitting on the beach, playing with grandchildren and enjoying the view”.

Taking over the helm as our new Director of Strategic Initiatives is Kathleen Yue, formerly our Associate Director, Kathleen has forged a strong reputation in the palliative care field in BC and beyond, and has been the driving force behind a variety of successful and creative projects for the Centre. In addition to her work at BCCPC, Kathleen has experience as a nurse, educator and manager in oncology, as well as home and community care. She is currently Director of Education for the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Nurses Group and has contributed to both the palliative nursing competencies and certification exam with the Canadian Nurses Association.
