The BCCPC has awarded $60,000 to 21 non-profit organizations, including 15 hospice societies and six community organizations in the fourth cycle of their Seed Grants Program.
This funding cycle focused on assisting BC community-based non-profit organizations to initiate, adapt, or continue to deliver critical community-based supports for isolated or frail older adults and those living with or dying from serious illnesses, and for their families, who have been disproportionally impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic.
Aligned with BCCPC’s province-wide mandate, half of the grants awarded in this cycle will go to organizations serving remote, rural and First Nations communities. In the first three funding cycles of the Seed Grants program, 49 non-profit organizations received funding and support for 68 projects.
To qualify for seed grant funds, applicants were asked to address at least one of BCCPC’s priorities:
• Provide practical, psycho-social and/or spiritual support services to the target population, including supports for grief and bereavement;
• Enhance public awareness of and engagement in advance care planning
