Processing Trauma Experiences with Palliative Care Clients and Their Families

Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) and Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) invites you to attend Processing Trauma Experiences with Palliative Care Clients and Their Families 5 Part Webinar Series

Many Hospice Palliative Care Caregivers feel that they do not have the necessary skills and experience to help a Hospice Palliative Care Client process a historical or new trauma before they die. The format of the webinar series will be 40 minutes of information sharing on different aspects of doing trauma work with certain clients and then a 20 minute question and answer section. The sessions will also include how to continue to develop your trauma informed practice and program. This webinar series will be based on two Canadian Resources: The Trauma Informed Guide 2013 and The Trauma-informed Toolkit. This five part webinar will be applicable to all sectors of the hospice palliative care team.

There is a one-time fee of $125 + HST to attend all sessions

Session 1: Introductory Session on Trauma and Palliative Care – November 4, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST

Session 2: Palliative Care Trauma Work with Veterans – November 11, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST

Session 3: Palliative Care Trauma Work with Refugees – November 18, 2020 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST

Session 4: Palliative Care Trauma Work with First Nations – November 25, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST

Session 5: Revisiting Lessons Learned from the HIV/AIDS Trauma and Striving to Have a Compassionate Trauma Informed Practice and Program – December 2, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST
