“Celebrating pioneers in palliative care nursing: past and present”
In May we celebrate Nursing Week and Hospice Palliative Care Week. What better way to do this, than to look to historic leaders, Florence Nightingale and Dame Cecily Saunders, as well as showcase current examples of pioneering nursing leadership. In this CPCNA webinar, Marie Cooper RN, BSc, MSc, Project Lead for St Christopher’s Hospice program, “Celebrating Palliative Care Nursing” will reflect on 8 pioneering qualities exemplified by Dame Cicely Saunders (founder of the modern hospice movement) and Florence Nightingale (founder of modern nursing). She will also share current examples of palliative care nurse pioneers throughout the world and help us consider what these characteristics and qualities means to each of us in our work.
