Relieving Moral Distress in the Time of COVID-19
September 16, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT
CAPC – Virtual Office Hours
This supportive session provides an opportunity to discuss with your peers the morally distressing challenges you’ve experienced as you respond to the coronavirus pandemic. In this interactive conversation, bioethicist Dr. Ira Bedzow will introduce a helpful framework for problem solving, especially for difficult moral challenges. We encourage participants in this Virtual Office Hour to read A Framework for Coping with Moral Challenges in the COVID Era.
Questions and discussion topics for this session may include (but are not limited to):
• Feeling inadequate or guilty about the care you are able to deliver during the COVID-19 era
• Being at odds with how your teammates or managers are approaching care delivery
• Addressing your grief, as well as that of your patients and families, and colleagues
• Navigating confusing ethical situations
