LTC+, a program of Healthcare Excellence Canada, focuses on supporting those who work in long-term care and retirement homes across Canada. LTC+ concentrates especially on pandemic learning and preparedness in a time when staff are managing an unprecedented situation day-to-day, while also trying to plan ahead.
The program is designed to be flexible, so that facilities can access resources to implement change quickly. You can choose from webinars, national huddles, coaching and funding. By joining LTC+, your team joins a community who are facing similar pressures or experiences. As an interactive community, LTC+’s vision is to grow across Canada with members sharing their own lessons and supporting each other.
It’s free to join
Contact LTC-SLD@cfhi-fcass.ca to connect to national huddles and the self-assessment tool, which gives access to peer-to-peer learning opportunities, coaching and potential funding.
Want a taste of what a national huddle is all about? Check this one out. BCCPC’s Kathleen Yue and Jane Webley, regional project lead, palliative care with Vancouver Coastal Health talk about Practical resources and strategies for person-centred care planning in LTC during COVID.
There is also a monthly virtual learning series – Next Steps in COVID-19 Response in Long-Term Care and Retirement Homes – which is open to everyone.
Healthcare Excellence Canada is a new organization formed by the merging of The Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement and the Canadian Patient Safety Institute.
